happy halloween!

I found these two gobblin's (Haley and Lauren) on my friends facebook! Hope you are enjoying all of your trick-or-treaters!

fall break...kinda

We went to Fripp for fall break...kinda. Evan got accepted to the Citadel and he did an overnight to see if in fact that is where he will be next fall...it is NOT! The swearing and yelling were a bit too much for him so thank goodness he got the early application in for Northwestern before we left! It was a really busy 5 days so it was not much of a "break" but I am so glad that we did it and that God gave Evan a definite yes/no decision.
Mammy went with us and got to spend a bunch of time with Sarah and Sophie! She helped out in Sophie's classroom and ate lunch with Sarah.
Here is that beautiful Sarah! She is the sweetest thing!

And Miss Sophie! She is so much fun:)

Troy and Theresa with the girls and Scooby right before they left for their cruise.

Todd and I stopped in Beaufort on our way to Charleston to get Evan on Friday and purchased this picture of a map of the low country, including Fripp. He had been wanting it for quite a while and was able to get it matted and framed for next to nothing...timing is everything!

Todd and I were able to go to the beach late one afternoon.  It will be the last time until spring. I have a lot of projects to do here at home before Evan's graduation to keep me busy through the c-o-l-d non-global-warming winter!

Good bye warmth, sunshine and sand...

thankful

I am feeling so thankful today. I am thankful for the beautiful weekend that Todd and I had together. The boys were busy traveling Indiana supporting the boys/girls soccer teams which gave us some much needed alone time. We didn't do anything special. We were just able to be together:)
"Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love..." (Ecclesiastes 9:9)
Thank you Todd for making me feel so loved!
I am thankful for the gorgeous fall foliage!
"He has made everything beautiful in its time." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

I am thankful that we have a church and went to services Sunday.
"...live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature."
 (Galatians 5:16)

I am thankful that the boys are part of youth at our church.
"...bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord." (Ephesians 6:4)

Evan wasn't too thrilled at first that he had been "creeped"! The youth at our church "creep/surprise" someone every week and it was Evan's turn.  It was all in good fun. Graham and Taylor video taped Evan when he left with a friend earlier that evening to go to a soccer match. Later, I was supposed to get his reaction. He has so much of his dad in him! Before he was okay with it he wanted to know who put the 90 balloons in his car...secretly, I think he was wondering if they messed anything up or scratched it!

senior picture sneak peek...

Ohhhhhh! I cannot wait to see the rest! I am so glad that there was a cornfield left to use as a backdrop.  You just have to have corn in your senior picture if you are a Hoosier! Thanks Mel for picking this one to use as the "sneak peek"...you know how bad I wanted this shot:) We were sooo blessed to have you take Evan's pictures...and for the awesome weather, light and sunset!

girls weekend!

Kimmie's here! Amy, Kim and I drove to northern Indiana to see Julie! We stayed at Amy's parents lake cottage on Bass Lake near Plymouth, IN.
Here is the "front" of the cottage...it's really the back but called the front as it's the side that faces the water.

The cottage was built in the 1880's!

This is the new garage with apartment up above.  The old one is in the dumpster to the left and below and the lake cottage is to the left behind the dumpster.

Oh boy, did I do some dumpster diving! I just had to have some 1880  boards! I will show you why in another post!

SURPRISE!!!! Julie's sister Karen turned 50 so she had a surprise party for her. She was shocked! Here she is with Lauren and in the first picture is Julie and Karen's mom standing behind them.

Here is Julie and Darcy (her sister-in-law) getting things perfect before the arrival.

Julie is the best party thrower...hmmm...I think that I just found your next job Julie! The pictures are of Karen when she was a little girl.

The party was held at a pottery/jewelry/glass making cottage in Warsaw, IN. Amy and Kim are on the left and Karen's best friend (Carlene) since grade school and her daughters are on the right and center...and Julie is working away!

The birthday girl and Amy.

Lauren and I making glass art.

Amy, Kim and Carlene working hard painting their pottery!

Haley and Lauren (Julie's girls) painting!

Miss Lauren! You silly girl!
Karen opening her gift. It is a license plate that goes on her new pink Schwinn bike!

After the party we went back to Bass Lake. Kim came out of the bathroom and this is what she saw! It was bigger but Amy beat it to death with a broom and tore its legs to bits!

The next morning I wanted to capture the fall foliage and its reflection on the placid lake water and some early morning fishermen...BEAUTIFUL! Bass Lake is the fourth largest natural lake in Indiana.

The next day we went to see Julie's new house that her dad is building her and the girls! I am sooo excited for them. They deserve this blessing:)

This is the front entry that leads into the living/dining/kitchen.

And here is Kim, Amy and Julie planning away!

I am so glad to know where my Julie and my her girls live! It is really easy to find so watch out girls, I'm gonna be one of those back door guests!! What a great weekend!

reunions

October 3 we went to the Bane fall family reunion. This is Mammy with the boys. The reunion was at her brother Kenny's farm.
This is Todd and his Uncle Bob and cousin Monte.

Uncle Charlie (Monte's dad) and Brian.

Mammy telling Evan a story.

We stopped by Dad's grave because it was the 1 year anniversary of his death. It was getting dark outside so the picture is not the best but I am glad that we have it. We miss you so much Paps!

GRAHAM McMULLEN FINISHES SEASON WITH A GREAT EFFORT

    October 8, 2010
By John Broughton of Pendleton Heights High School
Playing for the third day in a row, Graham McMullen lost to Chris Essick of Fishers 6-1, 6-3. The match was closer than the scores and Graham represented himself and the school well on and off the court. Congratulations to Graham on a great season and tourney run.

    Until next season!
