(part two)
Vera's One!
I think that this is the most important of firsts this month!
This little girl had a birthday celebration fit for a queen!
Her birthday is on the 27th and we celebrated the following Saturday the 30th.
But, first I will have to finish the days leading up to
this sweet girls big day!
(my "blog ocd" won't let me go out of order!)
The guys got
"True Blue"
out and cleaned the inside for the first time.
Yes,
we had her last year,
but…
I was busy helping Ashley plan a wedding
and
never quite got around to cleaning it!
Thanks guys for cleaning her up inside and out!
I wish that I could say that it was the first time that I have missed going
to one of Shelby's big events…but sadly it is not :(
When it was her first prom last year I had to miss it because we were in SC
at Evan's graduation from The Citadel.
And this year we missed her prom because we were in FL for spring break.
But,
I really hated missing her graduation open house.
I was not feeling well at all and had to stay horizontal...
Which is why I missed her senior night at tennis too.
All of that being said,
I am so proud of you, Shelby
and
that you are starting a
new chapter in your adult life at
Purdue University!
This was the first time that the mower slid down the hill
and landed in the muck on the banks of the creek out back!
You know when you have one of those
"Oh, crap!"
moments?
Graham was having one!
After digging out some of the creek bed so the tractor could roll up it without
doing any damage,
Graham hooked a rope to the back of it
and
used his Jeep for the first time
how a Jeep should be used!
He was a happy camper!
I'm glad it ended well.
(I was praying hard!)
I was a happy camper when I got this!
When I got home from Italy Alan and Kiely gave me a Kate Spade gift card
for
watching Vera for the week when they were in AZ.
(after I scolded her and told her never to do that again!)
I got online and saw that Kate Spade made charm bracelets!
So, I ordered a bracelet and added a:
~camera charm
because I took so many pictures that week
~coffee cup charm
because I would've never made it through the week without caffeine
~hashtag charm
because I tried to Instagram each night so Kiley could see her girl
~xoxo charm
because I absolutely loved every minute with Vera
~glasses charm
because Vera laughed each time I would put them on
I wanted something special to remind me of that week
and
the bracelet does just that!
I also told Kiely that when something happens to me
that I want Vera to have it.
And speaking of Vera!
Here are some pictures from her
FIRST
birthday party!!
Kiely went all out and I don't blame her!
The theme was
Pink Lemonade!
Kiely made these cute
funfetti cupcakes.
Aunt Ellen made the strawberry ones
and
Aunt Becky made the birthday plate!
Taylor's Bakery
made Vera's cake!
Kiely ordered these sinful Oreo cookies
covered with white chocolate and colored swirled icing!
She didn't miss a detail!
Ashley was looking in a photo album of Vera's first year.
I'm so glad that I took the picture at this moment.
Vera was so loved by these two Grandma's before she was ever born!!
Vera's
Aunt Trisha made this cute banner!
There's the birthday girl!
She just woke up from her nap to a house full of people ready to party!
Look at that sweet face :)
While the rest of the food was warming up everyone
took their turn wishing her a happy birthday!

Cousin love!

Grammy and Pappy
Well,
hello Aunt Ellen!
Uncle Todd!
Glasses!!
Daddy's girl!
Drew
Kiely's cousin from the Callender side.
Me and my girl :)
Soon,
it was time to sing
"Happy Birthday!"
And,
eat cake!!
And of course,
at a party you have to
DANCE!
And make new friends.
She had been walking for 5 days at this point...
…but sometimes it's just easier to crawl! ha!
Next it was present time!!
A tutu
made by...
...Ashley!!
A Cozy Coupe
put together by:
Graham,
Doug, and Vladimir!!
What memories this brought back!!
It sat in the corner of the family room for a few days and I just smiled
every time I walked by that room.
My boys used to love their Cozy Coupe when they were little!
Vera seems to love hers too :)
I love that her name is on it!
Alan and Kiely got her this sweet garden house :)
We also got her a swing,
and some pj's,
(not pictured)
a dress, and a romper!
Oh,
this was so cute…
…Vera's neighbor friends picked out princess everything
and
a baby doll.
They couldn't wait to give it her :)
They helped her put her gifts in to her basket,
and
their brother helped
Vera push it.
A plate, bowl and cup set from
Mallory, a friend of Kiely's.
And,
CUTE clothes from Aunt Ellen and Uncle Troy.
I think that she did alright! Ha!
It was such a fun day!
Even for one of Vera's newest friends,
baby Kate :)
Thank you,
Alan and Kiely!
Even though it stormed the show went on!
Everything was perfect!
Love you,
my sweet
Birthday Girl!
