My sweet puppy girl died July 7 while I was at Fripp. Todd's mom sat up with her while she suffered from reactions from a seizure that started when someone set off firecrackers the day after the fourth. I knew that when I said goodbye to her on June 16th that it would be the last time I would see her. She had been bad for awhile from seizures so much so that that was one reason I didn't take her down south. Like mom said to Angel the night she was dying, "Your life started out with me and now it is finishing with me". Thank you mom for being there with our precious puppy girl.
Todd did get to see her one more time. He stopped by after his flight home from Fripp to see her. She had been really bad but licked and licked his face and ate turkey from his hand. He said that she ran out to the family room looking for us. I just can't get that out of my mind:( He made a little box to bury her, her pink blanket and her "baby" which was her stuffed animal doggy. Her grave is under a tree in our backyard where I can look at it out of my kitchen window. She was the BEST dog ever and will never be replaced!
(We have been in SC for five weeks and taking college tours. I will be posting pix soon!)
I meant to put this on the post and forgot. Graham was pretty quiet when I told him about Angel dying but later that evening he expressed his feelings in this pencil drawing. I am so glad that his talent of drawing also helps him to heal. I think that the picture says it all! |

I hate that you weren't there, but maybe that is best. At least little Angel isn't suffering and she is in Heaven with Paps and is healthy and happy. She was a good puppy and deserves that.
