around the clock shower

It was a beautiful day to shower Alan and Kiely with wedding gifts!
Bear with me...this is going to be a long post!

Jane (one of my mom's best friends)
and I gave them an "around the clock" shower at my house.
Thirty-six people were invited and I thought that this would be a
great way for Alan and Kiely to receive a variety of gifts AND to help
narrow down ideas for the person buying.
I assigned "times" such as
bath time, bed time, time to bake/cook, time to decorate,
time to landscape, time to entertain, breakfast time, and game time.
It was so much fun planning the shower.
Our drinking glasses were Ball jars wrapped in twine and blue organza ribbon.
I found little wood squares that I drilled holes in to slip the twine through.
I used rubber stamps and blue ink and finished with a little bling!
To make them easier to drink out of,
I used Kiely's wedding colors with blue and yellow straws.
I used a stump for display that I was going to carve their initials into, but the wood was way too
hard so I tried to make it look like graffiti...it said A+K 4 ever!
The crazy daisies were cut from my yard and were a gift to me a few years ago
from my neighbor and friend, Karen :)
The lemonade was a Pinterest recipe and was so yummy and refreshing!
It was Country Time lemonade mix, pineapple juice, sprite and ice...easy peasy!

I wanted to thank everyone by giving them all a favor.
Keeping with the wedding colors I took yellow and blue dish cloths and
attached them to yellow or blue dish detergent.
I cut a bookmark in half to make a tag.
Then, using another rubber stamp that went with the "around the clock"
theme I stamped it on the front of the tag...
...and then thought of this little saying and
printed it and put it on the back of the tag.
We had brunch!
Breakfast casserole, quiche, chicken salad croissants, cucumber sandwiches, fruit, blueberry buttermilk breakfast casserole and lemon cake cookies.
Once again, I tried to stay with blue and yellow.

Kiely is such a happy bride-to-be!
That smile just seems to get bigger and bigger the closer
she gets to her wedding day ;)

Instead of playing a game,
I had each person take their gift to Kiely
and tell everyone who they were, how they met Alan or Kiely,
what "time" of day they had, and then they picked the next person.
Lisa, Kiely's best friend, got things started.

Lisa's time was "game time".
How cute are the golden rod popcorn containers!
The cups represent the colleges from which they graduated.

This is one of my best friends ever, Julie!

She had "time to bake/cook".
Her sister has the cutest store in Plymouth, IN and that
is where she got the cute bowls, spoons and spatula's.
I just love how Kiely takes in all of the presents and is so excited about each and everyone!
She did that with all of them :)

This is my other neice, Becky!
She drove all the way from FL to be here and to give a shower the next day
for the Callender side.

She had "landscape time".
Kiely and Alan got a hose, nozzle, and the pretty planter on the gift table!
Becky picked one of Kiely's work buddies, and the singer at the wedding, Lynda.

She had "time to decorate" and purchased a picture frame and place mats!
Courtney, friend and new bride herself, was next.

She, too, had "time to decorate".
She got them a beautiful outdoor rug, the runner that matches the place mats, and another
picture frame.
Jerica is a childhood friend of Kiely's.

She didn't have a specific "time" but chose another frame, sheets, and a candle.
Jennifer, my sister's best friend and her sisters, niece, and momma
had "time to entertain" and "breakfast time".
 Stephanie and Julie.
Nancy, their momma :)

Jennifer had a hard time talking about how she knew Kiely.
She and my sister were always so close and this is another time that
is so evident that she is not with us.

 This beautiful basket held...
Margarita pitcher and glasses...

 party place mats...
 glass rimmer...
and of course, margarita mix!
and a lime slicer.

Hugs all around!
Nicki, Jerica's mom was next.

She had "game time".
What a great gift for their new back yard!
Debbie, Casie's (Kiely's childhood friend) mom was next.
Debbie was also a very good friend to my sister AND she is the realtor that helped
Alan and Kiely find their new house!
Casie lives in CA so she wasn't there :( we missed you and Lindsay!!
Anyway, they went together and purchased items for
"breakfast time".
 Pancake time!
 Cereal bowls.
A container for jams and jellies...or whatever!
 Jam and jelly spoons.
 Beautiful platter...love that green!
 Cappuccino cups!
And a beautiful fruit basket!
She always had to hold everything up high so that the people in the back could see!
This is another one of my sister's friends, Lynn and her daughter Kristen, and grand-daughter Gracie. Lynn was also my sister's hairdresser...such a sweet family!
They had "breakfast time".
 Coffee cups to go...
 cooking utensils...
 pancake/waffle mix...
 gourmet syrup...
AND...(don't you just love that face!)

a griddle/grill!
My mom's best friend from grade school, Reita!

She had bedtime and thought that a night-cap before bed might be nice :)
Jane is explaining all of the showers that she has given for us!
She got her a great sink basket!
This is my mom's (and mine when I lived at home) neighbor.
She is also a beloved family friend.
Kiely worked for her for a short time in college and she knew Becky when she was a little girl!
 She had "bedtime".

I just love the look on Kiely's face here!

cute!

And some more sheets!!
This is Kiely's mother-in-law to be, Phyllis!
What a sweet person :)
She had bath time!
This is a beautiful shower curtain for "her bathroom"...
the guest bath at the new house! ;)

Trash can...

 and lotion!
Okay, so this is Alan's sister, Amy...and Alan, wouldn't you just love to know what
tale she is telling about you!!
She had "bath time" too...love the bag with the "G"!

Love this!!

Thanks for the story, Amy!
 My sweet sister-in-law, Ellen!
She had "time to landscape" and got Kiely the breast cancer
garden tool kit :)

And, some beautiful pearl earrings, bracelet, and necklace.
My momma or gma, as Kiely says, was up!
I brought out the umbrella because that sun was fierce!
My mom tried to talk but got too choked up so we just moved on to the gift!
 She had "time to landscape".
A great basket for clippings for her beautiful
abundance of knock out roses she soon will be trimming!

And a lawn caddy full of gloves, rose feed, pruners shovels, knee pad etc.
 My other sweet friend, Amy!
ALLLLL of these pictures are from her taking the time to sit on the hard
cement step and click away on her ipad.
You know how much it means to me Amy!!!
My camera is finally charged now...yay!!
She got them a new pitcher...

 AND...
glasses! I think that Kiley needs to be a model on The Price Is Right!
I mean, look at that hand placement ;)
I filled in for my Mother-in-law who couldn't be there due to having
a hip replacement earlier in the week.
She had "bath time".
Kiley is shouting back to Phyllis that she got more
things for "her" bathroom! :)

 It was finally my turn.
I told them that I have known Kiely since Jan. 4, 1984.
I was a senior in high school and wanted to take Kiely to
school to show her to all of my friends.
I have loved her before she was even born!!!
She is my sweet girl :)
I had a book made with all of her engagement pictures in it.
Kiely has a wedding website and on there is a story about
how her and Alan met so I took her words and added
them underneath the pictures to tell their story.

In keeping with the "around the clock" theme, I got them a metal clock.
And some thank yous for her to fill out for this shower that are already address and stamped :)
It was such a fun day!!!
Thank you mom for cutting up all of the fruit, Jane for helping plan and for the centerpeices and food, AND LIZZY (Evan's girlfriend)...whom I didn't get a picture of in her sweet summer dress :(, thank you for EVERYTHING...you too Evan, Graham,Todd for mowing, running errands ect... and Tom (for helping saw the stump)!!
Oh, and Tina, for helping me with the invitations :)
I will leave you with pictures of all the love and laughter of the day!

It was a blast!!!
Love you, Alan and Kiely :)
