fripp christmas tree!

I received a e-letter about Fripp's Christmas tree that I wanted to share with everyone...who knows, one of you might have a shovel, bucket or flip-flop hanging on the tree! lol!

Decorating our Fripp Island Christmas Tree was a true community effort. Our summer visitors left behind hundreds of useful beach items that the Loggerhead Turtle Patrol collected and saved as they cleaned our beaches each morning. Holes were drilled and ribbons tied to turn them into ornaments!
Yacht Club members collected cockle shells at the Bull Point picnic. The shells were drilled, glazed, and tied with twine.
Clay ornaments were made by some crafters in the FI Kayak Club .

The Women's Club Beautification Committee, along with several spouses, created a beach themed tree filled with masks, snorkels, sunglasses, flip flops, toys, shovels, shells and sea whip coral!

After use as our Christmas tree ornaments, the pails, shovels, snorkels and boogie boards will be donated to the Franciscan Center.

Our visitors had fun, our Turtle Patrol cleaned up the beach, the Island has a beautiful unique tree, and some children will get toys for next summer's beach visits. Everyone wins !
