Senior Night!

 

 

The underclassmen line up for the senior introductions.

 

 

First up, Mitchell!

 

 

Such a sweet family.

 

 

Mitchell will be going to Purdue to pursue an agriculture degree.

 

 

Then it was Evan Hart and his new "brother" Jonas.

The Hart's took in a foreign exchange student from Germany this year.

Another sweet family :)

 

 

 

Jonas is really only a sophomore, but we wanted to recognize him because he is going back to Germany at the end of the school year.

 

Evan will be going to Purdue to pursue an electrical engineering degree.

 

 

This is Robin's last boy home.

The other two are already at PU.

We talked tonight how different our lives will be next year...but in a good way.

 

 

Then it was Graham's turn.

He and the other boys are carrying in the posters we had made for them.

Yes, it was that windy and cold!

 

 

Our sweet boy is going to go to Wabash College to pursue a degree in pre-med.

He would like to go to med school to learn to be an orthopedic surgeon.

 

 

It has been a hard year for G.

He injured himself the very first match of the season and has only played three times up until tonight.

It is tough, because he has played tennis year round for six years preparing himself for this moment...

SENIOR YEAR!

 

He has made the most of it by feeding balls at practice and coaching during matches.

He even played a couple doubles matches (tonight included).

He has been through physical therapy, had several x-rays, an MRI, and

on Thursday he will have a CT scan to see if he has a tear in the hip cartilage.

If it is a tear, surgery is his only option.

 

 

At times I'm not sure who it's been harder on him, his dad and I, or his private/asst. coach Dennis.

But, fortunately there will be tennis after high school for Graham.

The Wabash coach wants him to come and play for them!

Wabash is a perfect fit for Graham both athletically and academically.

 

Speaking of perfect fit, Shelby came out to the courts after she got off of the basketball court.

I can't wait to come to one of your games, Shelby :)

I was so happy when he did because Graham was just telling me that he wanted to play the last home match because the last time he played he had to quit because he was in too much pain to finish and he didn't want to go out as a quitter.

So, it made it even sweeter to end on a win on "his" court.

The team has a lot of returning players so hopefully they will have lots of great seasons ahead of them!

 

 

And, they have a great coach to help them do just that.

 

 

 

 

All of the seniors won their matches and then it was time for pizza and cake!
